In addition, GenX Tech Solutions has revamped their IT environment, replacing their antiquated server with a Dell PowerEdge server, installing VMware vSphere 5.5 and re-engineering their Active Directory Infrastructure. Plus, they installed Windows 2008 Server VMs to isolate various IT functions into their own virtual environments and placed their database into the cloud.

Dominick discussed the importance of revamping their IT environment; “Our infrastructure was set up for a company probably 4 or 5 times the size of ours. They understood our business model and what we’re trying to do in the future. I don’t want to be buying new servers every 5 years and changing our structure. I’d rather buy and fit things within a budget based on the size of our company.

He also offered insight into the importance of their information systems, “The technical aspect of any business nowadays is very important, externally and internally.
